The workshop will take place at MuDIs, Museo Diocesano di Ischia, Via Seminario, 20 80077 Ischia Porto, Campania, Italy in the conference room sala San Giovanni Paolo II.


 

HOW TO REACH THE ISLAND

Ischia is an island in the Golfo di Napoli at 1 hour fast ferry or 1.40 hour regular ferry from Napoli. To reach the island you have more options:
  • Fast ferry from 3 different companies (Alilauro and Caremar, arriving at Ischia Porto, and Snav, arriving at Casamicciola Terme) departing from Molo Beverello;
  • Regular ferry from 2 different companies (Caremar,Medmar, arriving both at Ischia Porto and Casamicciola Terme) departing from Calata Porta di Massa;
  • Regular ferry from 3 different companies (Caremar, Medmar, Gestur, arriving both at Ischia Porto and Casammiciola Terme) departing from Porto di Pozzuoli. Note that to reach Pozzuoli from Napoli by public transportation (depending on where you are) you need 40-90 extra minutes.

 

HOW TO REACH MUDIS

From Ischia Porto, you can reach Museo Diocesano di Ischia by walking (less than 30 minutes), by public transportation (EAV bus, line 7, C12) or by taxi.
You can also arrive at Casamicciola Terme (that is a town near the town of Ischia) and then you can go to Ischia by bus (EAV bus, line CD, 1, 2,3, 14, and all the busses directed to Ischia Porto) or taxi.
 

ACCOMODATIONS

Close to the workshop place there are several hotels. Here there is a small list:

  5. Hotel Mira Mare e Castello;
  6. Hotel Solemar;
  7. Hotel Pineta;

You can find other options on the Turism information website as well as surfing on the web.
Please note that during the summer weekends (even in September), the island is always very crowded. Therefore, we strongly suggest to book as soon as possible your accommodation. Unfortunately, also the ferries are often full, so as soon as you decide when arrive on the island, you should book the ferry’s tickets, too.
